A major role of the National Office is to maintain communication with our denomination. To keep all of our ministries up to date on what is going on in the Brethren Church, this “National Office Update” will be a bi-weekly letter to inform pastors and leaders of the current events in our denomination.It is our hope that by beginning these updates, we will strengthen our communication as well as join together, so we may be beginning to move forward in the mission of the Brethren Church. Please feel free to pass along this information to all of those in your church who are interested in staying up to date with the ministry of the Brethren Church.
Pastor’s General Conference Packets
Packets for General Conference are in the mail. These packets include registration forms, lay & elder credentials, offering summary & bulletin inserts, and a display request form. If you haven’t submitted your statistical report or credential payment please do so, so we may send your credentials and related information.
Executive Board & Council Meetings
The Executive Board & Councils will be meeting March 14th and 15th in Ashland. Please be in prayer for this group of leaders as they travel in to bring guidance and vision to the Brethren Church.
Fair Share
The method by which Fair Share is calculated by the Brethren Church is under review and will be a topic of discussion for Executive Board. Any possible changes in the Fair Share calculation will be communicated in as many ways as possible prior to General Conference.
BYIC Update
The National BYIC Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and Steering Committee met this past weekend to discuss the vision and goals of the BYIC. Some major changes have been proposed and the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) will be contacting youth leaders and pastors soon to communicate these changes.
