The Brethren Church

New Song Community Church, a mission congregation of the Indiana District, held their building dedication on Saturday April 8, with an enthusiastic crowd of members and guests from throughout the district. The new facility is located just north of Elkhart, Indiana across the state line near Union, Michigan. This location takes Brethren ministry to the state of Michigan again, after having closed the ministry in Matteson, Michigan some years ago.

Pastor Mike Weber led the congregation in thinking of the amount of sacrifice, giving, and many hours of manual labor that went into the construction of this facility. New Song members worked tirelessly throughout the whole project, with sidewalks and parking lot areas in place just days before dedication. In addition, district volunteers helped with some of the work, as well as providing financial assistance during the process and for the future as well. New Song Community Church began four-and-a-half years ago with a core group (including pastor!) from the Winding Waters Brethren Church, who received special recognition for their support.

This new facility is designed to allow future expansion on a generous lot of 35 acres. The New Song church has a vision for reaching further into Michigan and surrounding communities, and celebrated Easter with an attendance of over 200.
