On Thursday, November 20th, the worship teams of Five Stones Community Church and Park Street Brethren Church came together to lead the Gratitude Worship Night hosted by the Office of Christian Ministry at Ashland University. These two Brethren congregations, located less than three blocks apart, have each been blessed with gifted leaders who joyfully invest their time in pointing students to Christ. Their collaborative effort painted a beautiful picture for Ashland University students of unity within the body of Christ.
The evening also featured student testimonies. One by one, Ashland University students shared stories of God’s faithfulness: answered prayers, finding Christian community, gratitude for God’s provision, personal growth at AU, and how God continues to be at work on campus.
A special thank you to Amber LeMaster (Five Stones / The Well) and Josh Vanderzyden (Park Street) for recruiting volunteers to lead worship. It was also a blessing to have Steven Cole, Assistant Dean at Ashland Theological Seminary, run the sound board during the worship night.
Praise be to God as students continue to grow in Christ and in community with others while at Ashland University. And thanks be to God for Brethren leaders that use their time and talents to impact students on campus.
In Christ,
Josh Sumpter
Executive Director, Office of Christian Ministry
