The Brethren Church is pleased to announce the hiring of Dan Acker as our Coordinator of Vitality. Dan began his work in this new role on Monday, March 9, 2026.

For nearly two decades, Dan has been a pastor at Summit Ridge Community Church in Tucson, Arizona. As Senior Pastor, Dan blends a deep love for his local congregation with a broad vision for regional leadership, serving as the resource coordinator for the Western Region of the Brethren Church.

Dan’s academic foundation is as robust as his ministry, spanning Hope College and Ashland University before culminating in a Doctorate from BIOLA University. Despite the titles, Dan remains grounded in what matters most: his family. He is the proud father of three grown children—Maggie (and husband Dawson), Ellie, and Steve.

When he’s off the clock, Dan stays true to his roots. You’ll likely find him cheering for the Green Bay Packers or reminding anyone within earshot that a water fountain is, and always will be, a “bubbler.” You can contact Dan at dan@brethrenchurch.org.
