Develop Leaders.

Since our inception, The Brethren have been marked by our commitment to loving, biblical relationships.

Leadership in The Brethren Church is non-hierarchal, meaning that no one person sits above another in authority. However, because we believe that the body of Christ needs all parts to be complete and full, we desire every person in our churches to have the opportunity to reach their full God-gifted potential to live out their call in this world. Developing leaders is not a siloed opportunity, instead it is woven into the fabric of all that we do at a denomination.

Coaching

There are times as a leader when we realize we cannot continue to go alone, and we need someone to walk along side of us. Coaching is one of the ways to have someone walk along side you as a leader. We help provide coaching  opportunities to leaders desiring this type of opportunity.

Sabbatical

Scripture clearly reveals the importance and need for a Sabbatical. Too often we hear the reports about pastoral burnout. Unhealthy, burned out leaders produce unhealthy, burned out ministry. We want to see the stats improve and help develop healthy, motivated leaders. Toward that end we provide resources and tools to assist pastors and churches participate in Sabbatical experiences.

Brethren Academy

The Brethren Academy is a unique learning experience for high school student leaders to explore Brethren & personal IDENTITY, individual CALLING, & their personal WITNESS to the world.

This annual, multi-day gathering of students occurs usually in the fall on the campus of Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio and brings together Sophomore, Junior, and Senior high school students for an enriching opportunity to grow as student leaders.

Often times students who graduate from the program come back to serve as mentors and continue sharing what they’ve learned with the next generation of students.
