With every bag accounted for, Eve Sparks cleared customs in Lima and headed down the coast to Pucusana where she settled into her new home for the next three months. While there, she’ll work alongside Allie and Topher Wallace, as well as the rest of our Pucusana partners, in the school programs and the home church as our new Brethren International Intern.

A recent high school graduate from First Brethren Church of Oak Hill, West Virginia, Eve first visited Pucusana just last December. She spent ten days with a group of youth led by Chyann Mackey (Mt. Olive Brethren Church, McGaheysville, VA). Their primary focus was on repainting the local school, working shoulder-to-shoulder with long-term partners Elena, Allie, and Topher. What started as a short-term project turned into a clear call to return.

For the next three months, Eve will serve alongside Allie and Topher Wallace, diving into school programs and supporting the local home church. She is already getting to know the neighborhood, connecting with families, and stepping into the rhythm of daily life in Pucusana.
