We are thrilled to share an exciting update on our partners, Pastor Samkelo (Sam) Noholoza, his wife Clara, and their family, who have successfully completed their 1,500-mile move from Durban, South Africa, to Lilongwe, Malawi!
This move is a significant step forward, aligning their work directly with the call given in Matthew 28:19-20 to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Before their departure, the Durban Elders gathered to pray over Pastor Sam and lay hands on him, commissioning him for this critical work.
Laying the Foundation for Sustainable Ministry
The Noholoza family has settled into Lilongwe, and their children are enrolled in school there. Their mission is multi-faceted, focusing on immediate support, spiritual growth, and long-term sustainability:
- Church and Community Growth: Sam and Clara are immediately connecting with Moses to help the new church plant continue to grow and develop its community outreach programs.
- Economic Empowerment: A key focus is working alongside Moses and others to ensure the peanut butter factory grows and thrives. This sustainable business model is vital, enabling the church to become self-sufficient and remain a powerful presence in the region for years to come.
- Family Business Support: The Noholoza family is also dedicating time to support Clara’s family with their business operations. (Clara is originally from Malawi, giving this work a personal connection.)
Pastor Sam recently made a brief trip back to Durban to meet with Sandile and Franc. This meeting was crucial for clarifying and building upon the vision and strategy for both ministry and sustainability efforts in Malawi.
Building Partnerships for the Future
The Noholoza family is committed to expanding their ministry footprint. They are looking forward to connecting with Amy Collet (North Manchester Brethren Church), who is currently working in Malawi, to explore potential new avenues for collaboration and ministry development.
We ask for your continued prayers for the Noholoza family as they embrace this new chapter and for the fruit of the spirit to be evident in the growing church and vital businesses in Malawi.
This vital work in Malawi, as well as the thriving ministries in South Africa, South America (including Peru, Argentina, and more), and other global locations, is only possible because of the faithful prayers and generous commitment of the Brethren people. Your partnership in giving and praying continues to open doors for discipleship, leadership development, economic sustainability, and the spread of the Gospel across continents. Thank you for your continued dedication to seeing the Great Commission fulfilled through opportunities like these.
Respectfully Submitted,
Scott Soden
