Pastor Mark Dever summed up the vocation of pastoral ministry in this simple phrase, “Preach and Pray. Love and Stay.”

This phrase beautifully describes the ministry of Roger and Kim Stogsdill as they celebrated 25 years of ministry at First Brethren Church on Sunday, September 18th. The indelible impact that Roger and Kim have had on those at First Brethren was apparent as several people shared stories, at a reception celebrating their quarter-century of service. Many spoke about how the Stogsdills’ ministry and presence helped them through life’s ups and downs and helped them to see and trust Jesus in their own journeys.

It seems that to pastor long-term in one place runs in the blood as First Brethren was pastored by Roger’s father, Pastor Clarence Stogsdill “Stogy” for 29 years. Congratulations Roger and Kim on your faithful service at First Brethren and your long obedience in the same direction!
