South African Brethren Advance Ministry in Malawi
Brethren Church
August 12, 2025

God continues to use The Brethren Church in amazing ways all around the world! Your partners in South Africa haven’t let any grass grow under their feet; they’re boldly seizing opportunities to reach people not just in their communities, but have also begun working hand-in-hand with people and businesses in Malawi. The incredible result is not just the peanut butter company partnership we previously reported on; this vital work has already given birth to a brand-new church in Malawi, which has immediately begun reaching out in both word and deed to the least and the lost.

Your partner Sandile Mkhwanazi shares in his own words about the impact already happening at a local orphanage:

The Brethren Church in Malawi, a brand-new church plant launched only a few weeks ago, visited and comforted Stecka House, an orphanage housing more than ninety children under one roof in Nyambadwe, Blantyre, Malawi. The Brethren, led by Moses Kunsanja, blessed them with assorted food items, which are the daily needs of the children at the house, who range in age from 2 to 28 years.

We found five kids at the house who were malnourished, and previous doctors who visited recommended high-calorie diets and protein foods. Thankfully, Wow Peanut Butter packs and cooking oil were among the food items donated, and they, in their own words, called it “an angel” food, which they have been praying for a long time to fight malnutrition.

We aim to build a long-term relationship with Stecka House as a church, so that we can become a lasting solution within the community we serve.

Maseko, the father/caretaker of the kids, said that we were the first visitors to the orphan house in 2025. He therefore thanked The Brethren Church of Malawi for the visit and donations, as they were timely amid tough economic times for such a large family.

It was a truly blessed time, and we spent time together as a family afterwards at a picnic.

What an incredible report! It’s wonderful to know that your prayers and the resources your generosity has provided are creating new opportunities to see the Gospel grow, not only in South Africa but also in Malawi. By giving to Brethren Global Partners, you are creating opportunities like these to happen all over the globe.

Glory to God!!!
