The Brethren Church National Office is pleased to announce some staff changes for 2018.
Jason Barnhart rejoins National Staff
Rev. Jason Barnhart has rejoined the national office staff as Director of Brethren Research and Resourcing. Jason has already begun work this fall, overhauling online courses offered to Brethren candidates for ordination, as well as establishing a new library of digital and print resources for churches, including videos explaining Brethren history, theology, and more. These resources will help train leaders in Brethren Churches, such as moderators and board members, educate new members of the Brethren Church, and further clarify Brethren Identity for all. Prior to this position, Jason served as Chaplain for Ashland University.
Ronald W. Waters to Head Brethren Advancement
In conjunction with the shifting needs of the denomination, both in the mid-level reorganization, as well as the increasing need to provide tangible, practical resources for local congregations and regions, Ronald W. Waters will join the national staff in 2018 in a part-time role. Ron will head up the creation of a Brethren Development and Advancement team. This important work will ensure the financial stability of the denomination, as well as fueling new initiatives to carry the Gospel further in our local communities, as well as the ends of the earth. Ron is no stranger to the national level of The Brethren Church, holding a rich history of work with The Brethren Publishing Company and more. Prior to this position, Ron served as senior pastor of First Brethren Church (North Georgetown, OH).
There are a number of other staff positions changing at the national level. For a full list of open positions, or to apply, please visit
