Many times as I look around the church on Sunday morning there are not many times that I see smiles as people worship. I often think why don’t we look like we are ENJOYING worship? Myself included in this exam. You know what I mean? There are those who are truly connecting with the Lord, you can see it in their expression. Whether it is hands raised, eyes closed or bouncing to the beat they are into worship. It is more than music for them.
I have thought to myself before, why isn’t this a party? Why are we screaming so loud at the football game on Friday night or a concert on Saturday night? Yet, on Sunday morning some of us barely stay awake for the hour or so we are there. We should be celebrating!!! We are privileged to gather together without fear of arrest. We are children of The Living God! I recently saw this video that caused me to stop and think about our enthusiasm, or lack thereof.
How do we expect people to feel welcome or encouraged if we aren’t enthusiastic about being with GOD? We HAVE been given the best gift ever, why are we not celebrating that more??
Maybe your church is celebrating. What are you doing? How are you sharing the good news of salvation with those who aren’t believers? What about with those who would never come to a church? How can you take the party to them?
