Summer has been busy and great…full of family times, Camp Bethany, General Conference and more! I love all of that, but NOW it is time to find the rhythm of life for fall and winter. I love this time of recalibrating and evaluating my priorities and possibilities. Rich relationships in my church community and women's small groups are a huge part of this for me. We need each other and God designed us for these particular times of community and fellowship and study together! It is a perfect time to seek out these experiences. Women's (and men's) groups like a bible study or share group, or even a local WMS are opportunities to find and to serve Jesus in a relationship with others. So this fall, try these two ways to enrich your spiritual life in community with others. These resources are not limited to WMS groups. We would love to share!

Our devotional Program and Guide, edited by Amanda Dowdy has monthly devotions written on the theme "Knowing Where You Are: Looking Back in Brethren History to Know Where We Are Now." These 12 articles bring "life and insight into the core beliefs that give the Brethren tribe their shape and identity." Ideal for anyone! (Available as a digital download here)
Also, this year National WMS has added a challenge for our women (and would be perfect for any group to consider). The purpose is found in Acts 432 which says. "All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had" (NIV)
From this scripture we can glean at least these three reasons for gathering:
All the believers: They were multigenerational
One in heart and mind: They had united relationships with others
Shared everything they had: They lived with a missional focus.
We believe strongly that women (and men) love to gather and thrive in relationship with others and Jesus as they seek to serve Jesus on mission with others. This is an opportunity to host a time of community and fellowship. Let's be intentional and creative, and have lots of fun too! We sent a packet of ideas and resources to help meet this A.432 Challenge to every local WMS group, along with the new devotion guides. These packs are available to anyone; just contact sherry@parkstreetbrethren.org or call 419-289-0224
