In just over two months, the invasion of Ukraine by Russia has created a refugee crisis in Europe the likes of which have not been seen since the end of World War II. The human cost is horrendous! More than 11 million men, women, and children have been displaced and forced to become refugees. The question remains; how can we help?
World Relief is one of the few organizations that have been on the ground working to provide safe travel, shelter, food, and protection from human traffickers since the onset of the war. Working to bring badly needed supplies, they partner with dozens of local churches in Poland, Romania, and Moldova. These partners help set up emergency shelters and coordinate the placement of refugee families forming an underground railroad of sorts to provide safety to those fleeing the raging storm of war. For many years, the Brethren Church worked in partnership with World Relief as they brought help and hope relief to millions in desperate need through churches in India, Sudan, Sierra Leone, and the Middle East. You and your church are invited to bring an offering to General Conference that will provide food, water, and shelter for people looking for hope in the darkness. Our goal is to raise $25,000 this summer for the Ukraine effort, and you can donate now at brethrenchurch.org/ukraine. Join us in making a difference for eternity today!
