As July approaches, more details continue to emerge about our upcoming General Conference in Black Mountain (near Asheville), North Carolina. Hosted at Ridgecrest Conference Center, Basecamp 2019 will be a great time of relaxation and refueling for ministry leaders.
As we mentioned a few weeks back, all rooms at Ridgecrest are sold out. That doesn't mean you cannot attend, it simply means you'll need to make other arrangements for lodging. Alternately, you can join the waitlist to see if any spaces open up at Ridgecrest due to cancellations. Both can be done at our conference registration page.
If you pre-registered for conference and have a remaining balance, that amount will be billed to your card on file on June 4, 2019. Please call conference coordinator Ryan Smith (419-289-1708), ryan@brethrenchurch.org, if you have any questions.
Kids Conference Registration is now open. This is for kids that are potty-trained through age 11. Cost is $75/child, and more details can be found here.
The schedule for Basecamp is now posted to the conference page. This page is where all of the most up-to-date information is always stored. Please note the schedule is subject to change. Check-in is available after 3 PM on Monday, July 15. Due to the nature of Ridgecrest Conference Center, and that there are other groups on campus with us that week, early check-ins/arrivals are not permitted. However, there are a number of fun activities to check out in neighboring Black Mountain and Asheville.

Finally, details on an optional bus trip to Chimney Rock are available as well. This optional add-on to your week is a great way to see incredible views of the Smoky Mountains. Chimney Rock, the 535-million-year-old monolith for which the Park is named, is considered one of the most iconic sites in North Carolina. From its top, you’ll soak in the 75-mile panoramic views of Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. You can hike to the top of this towering 315-foot granite outcropping located on the very edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. At an elevation of 2,280 feet above sea level, this mountaintop experience will take your breath away. The climb is well worth the effort! Register for that trip here
