Brethren Attend Franklin Graham's Prayer March
A number of Brethren pastors and laity attended a recent prayer march in Washington D.C. The event, organized and led by Franklin Graham, was billed as a non-partisan gathering to pray for healing, mercy, protection and wisdom on our nation and its leaders. The event attracted tens of thousands, including 46 busloads of students from Liberty University in nearby Virginia.
Graham, who has been an outspoken supporter of President Trump, led prayer "confessing the sins of our nation" (though was not specific about what those sins were), asking for humility and forgiveness, and asking for "help to our nation". He then prayed, "we're going to pray for our representatives. Republican, Democrat, we're going to pray for all of them."
"We're going to try to cover all those that are in government with our prayers, and we're not going to be just praying quietly. I've asked everybody as we march, let's pray out loud as we go. I want everybody in this city to know that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ has shown up, and we're here, in His name," Graham said.
If you, your pastor, or someone from your church attended the march, we'd love to hear about your experience! Email your stories or photos to communications@brethrenchurch.org and we'll add them to this article.
