Brethren Youth in Cordoba, Argentina
The following is an update from Walter Romanenghi, a local Brethren pastor serving in Argentina
By the grace of God new young people have been added to the congregation in Córdoba, as well as several new families. The capacity of our church is 130 people, so we now have two Sunday services because there is not enough room for everyone at the same time. Because we are close to a major university, we have a great challenge of reaching with the Gospel to young students from all over the country. They meet on Saturday nights with an average of 60-80 attendees. The youth team started with a special activity on Friday nights, where they gather to play volleyball and drink ‘mate’. They invite friends who hear of the love of God. It was an activity with very good attendance and success.
They are trying to organize themselves into small groups for discipleship of new people, and the preparation of new leaders. The Ministry of Adolescents began the year with a wonderful camp for the children of the church. They continue to meet on Saturday afternoons for activities.
Prayer Requests:
Guidance as they make decisions about modifying their church building and being able to expand it so that more people can attend. Pray for the formation of new leaders and workers because ‘the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few.’
God bless you,
Walter Romanenghi
