Small Can Be Beautiful

I spent some time with five guys from my church chewing on Reggie McNeal’s book, The Present Future. McNeal writes about six wrong questions we ask about our churches, and six tough questions we should be asking. As we ere tossing around one of those wrong questions (How do we plan for the future?) compared to the tough question (How do we prepare for the future?), one of my guys said, “Wouldn’t it be great if we could just rejoice in what God has made us be right now, without feeling disappointment that we haven’t achieved some expectation for our future?” That resonated with each of us. Since then our desire has been to embrace the role that God has given our church at this time in our history, finding contentedness in who we are right now while continuing to be prepared for where God might direct us in the future.
Let me introduce you to Oasis Community Church.
